Predoctoral fellowship (FPI) on the physiology of exercise in fish


It offers a predoctoral grant FPI from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. This scholarship is associated to a research project funded by the MICINN (project AGL2009-07006/ACU) entitled “physiological Consequences of exercise in the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss): effects on muscle growth, immune system and reproduction.” The (the) fellow (a) carry out the doctoral thesis in the framework of this project that has as main objective to describe from the point of view of molecular i cel • lular effects of swimming sustained growth at the muscular level, on the immune response and reproduction, using a fish-teleost (the tortilla) as an experimental model. In this project, studies will be performed sky • lulars, of gene expression by microarray and protein using a proteomic approach.

The successful candidate should be a graduate in Biology and / or Biochemistry and have a grade point average of academic record of not less than 2.0. It requires (1) the accomplishment of postgraduate studies at master's degree level, (2) previous experience in laboratories (academic or industrial) using techniques of Cell Biology • lar and molecular and (4) knowledge of the English language (spoken and written).
