The Institute of Marine Science ICM-CMIMA (CSIC) facilities

The Institute of Marine Science (CSIC) Mediterranean Marine and Environmental Research Centre (CMIMA) was opened on November 2001 and amongst its facilities includes the Experimental Aquariums Area (ZAE):

– The new services and laboratories of this research centre are complemented with these new facilities dedicated exclusively to marine aquaculture research and constitute one of the most modern ones in the Mediterranean area.

– The ZAE’s 650 m&sup2 include 3 separated rooms with tanks, 11 thermoregulable chambers and different types of aquariums with a total volume of 70 m&sup3. In this facilities is possible to choose from 9 water sources and temperature, salinity, oxygen and photoperiod can be monitorised.
