Provides advice for the Catalan Government and related organisms.
Some XRAq members have been consultants for the Catalan Government and related organisms regarding different subjects. For instance, XRAq members have provided advice regarding areas of interest for the aquaculture, environmental subjects and fish pathology issues (Catalan Water Agency and Department of Environment).
Therefore, the Catalan Administration and the XRAq keep a close contact in order to asses and execute several subjects, such as:
- Water quality for shellfish harvesting
- Quality issues regarding fisheries
- Conservation actions and mitigation of negative effects in the Ebro river’s ecosystem.
Another example of the assessment duties of some XRAq members is the permanent contract that the Catalan Government has for the Control and Monitoring Program of the Catalan Coastal Waters, as well as, the Water Quality, Mollusks and Toxic Phytoplankton Surveillance in the Catalan shellfish production areas. Furthermore, it has to be highlighted that a XRAq member is present in the Catalan Aquaculture Board organized by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Action keeping a regular and direct contact with the Administration and the aquaculture industry.
